F-LICENSE INFORMATION
Registered F-License candidates, please see the
details for your class on August 8th-9th.

Introduction
So you decided to give coaching a try? Maybe you don't have soccer experience? That's OK because we are offering you FREE* soccer training and coaching skills that will provide you a good level of knowledge to make you a competent and capable coach. We’re offering local training on August 8th and 9th for you to receive your F-License.

We strongly recommend that every coach and assistant coach attend the F-License training program to get the most benefit and coaching tips. The F-License training program is free for this in-town class for our LVSA coaches and assistants only. It is recommended for coaching players 6-12 years old and there are no prerequisites for attending the course. For those who are coaching in the Senior Division, an E-License is recommended, but has a prerequisite of the F-License. Please see the NJ Youth Soccer website for more information about E-License classes.

Training Dates
The first part of the F-License Training is Friday evening, August 8, 2008 from 6:30PM to 9:30PM at the Long Valley Presbyterian Church, 39 Bartley Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853. This is a classroom setting and the course will be taught by a certified NJ Youth Soccer trainer. Your attendance is required.

The second part of the F-License Training is Saturday, August 9, 2008 from 8:30AM to 2:30 PM at Palmer Park Field #3, Bartley Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853. This is the on field portion of the program and the course will be taught by a certified NJ Youth Soccer trainer. Again, your attendance is required.

Both parts 1 and 2 are required for attaining your F-License and attendance is taken at both sessions.

Course Benefits and Requirements
The teaching philosophy for this age level is largely devoted to teaching players technique, keeping tactics simple and minimal. The course focuses on methods used in teaching the techniques of dribbling, shooting, passing and receiving, heading, defending, and goalkeeping. Focus is on fun, repetition, and the use of small-sided games. The course contains practical first aid and criteria for running a safe and healthy program.
The minimum age requirement for taking the F-License course is 14 years old. Candidates who take the F-License course and are under the age of 18 will not receive a NJYS Coaches Pass until they are 18 years old. They can obtain a Youth Trainers Pass.

Candidates should be aware that you will not receive your F-License certificate at the course site. At the conclusion of the course, the Course Coordinator will send the appropriate documentation to NJYS. New Jersey Youth Soccer will mail each candidate their F License certificate. Please allow two weeks from the end of the course to receive your certificate.
